Appointment of New Trustees

We are delighted to announce the appointment to the Board of Muktangan Educational Trust, UK of four new trustees, John Williams, Prasad Khambalikar, Sreeja Nedungadi and Rishi Chowdhury .


John Williams


John spent 30 years in shipping and logistics during which time he lived and/or worked in all six continents. He then retrained as a Science teacher through Now Teach but has since retired from full-time teaching. He now focuses on voluntary activities and is delighted to have joined as a trustee of Muktangan UK, which he has known for several years. His wife is Indian and they split their time between London and Mumbai.



 

Prasad Khambalikar


Prasad grew up in Baroda and completed his MBA at Symbiosis in Pune. He worked in Mumbai before moving to UK. With more than 20 years of experience working with Global MNCs in senior management and leadership roles across EMEA in the banking, aerospace and defence sectors, he currently works as a Regional Head with one of the biggest software firms in the world. He was one of the founding trustees of Surrey Hindu Cultural Association, and is on advisory board of a bank in Russia and a healthcare organisation in UAE. He is also a mentor and speaker at non-profit organisations dedicated to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in the younger generation. He believes in the key importance of education as it not only crafts the future of an individual, but brings positive impacts to uplift the student’s family, community and society.


Prasad is involved with girl child education and empowerment-focused charities and NGOs in India and is passionate about ‘Giving back to the community’ to help make a difference to people’s lives and to build a better society and a stronger nation.


 

Sreeja Nedungadi

Sreeja grew up in Mumbai and completed her undergraduate degree at Swarthmore College and her MBA at Harvard Business School. She worked in investment banking and retail in New York and London before moving to Mumbai where she discovered her interest in children’s education. She has worked for 11+ years in various education charities. She was a Strategy Consultant at the Akanksha Foundation in Mumbai, Chief Operating Officer at India School Leadership Institute in Mumbai and Operations Director at Global Schools Forum in London. She is currently a consultant in London supporting young education charities in their journey from a start up to a growth phase. She is passionate about ensuring that every child, irrespective of background, has access to a high quality education.



 

Rishi Chowdhury


Rishi grew up in London and has been a regular visitor to India where his parents are from. He studied business management at the University of Kingston before embarking on a career in start ups. Initially cutting his teeth with one of the UK’s fastest growing tech start ups, Rishi went on to found his own start up accelerator and, more recently, a commercial property tech company. As well as advising start ups and accelerators globally, he regularly speaks at schools and universities about entrepreneurship as a career choice.



We welcome John, Prasad, Sreeja and Rishi. We are delighted to have all of them on board to strengthen our team as trustees!
